Takeaway: Leaving paradise is never easy, but the real magic is bringing a little bit of that island mindset home — the slow mornings, the gratitude, the joy in simple things.

This is post 10 of 10.

🌺 The Last Lanai Morning

Our final morning in Kauai felt bittersweet in that familiar way — the kind of sadness that only comes from leaving a place that filled your soul. But the lanai was calling, and I wasn’t about to miss one last cup of coffee in my happy place.

Warm air. Soft breeze. Coloring book beside me. Coffee in hand. A moment to soak it all in.

It was the perfect goodbye.

🥓 One Last Breakfast Tradition

We headed to the golf course for breakfast — home of the best breakfast burritos on the island. I’m still shocked we only did it once this trip, but maybe that just means we savored it more.

There’s something about eating breakfast outdoors in Hawaii that makes everything taste better. Maybe it’s the view. Maybe it’s the air. Maybe it’s the fact that you’re not rushing anywhere.

🧳 Packing Up the Memories

Packing is always the worst part. Not because of the clothes — those are easy. It’s the mental shift. The quiet acknowledgment that the trip is ending, and real life is waiting.

But this year, instead of feeling sad, I felt grateful. Two weeks of sunsets, rain showers, pool days, pizza nights, beach hours, and slow mornings. Two weeks of rest and reconnection. Two weeks of remembering what matters.

✈️ Easy Flights & A Soft Landing

The travel day was smooth — easy flights, no chaos, home at a decent hour. A small miracle in itself.

Walking through the door felt familiar and comforting, but I carried something new with me: a promise to slow down, sip my coffee, and remember that life is good.

🌈 The Real Souvenir

Kauai gives you more than photos and tan lines. It gives you perspective. It gives you calm. It gives you a reminder that joy is found in the small things — the morning breeze, the sound of rain, the taste of mint chip ice cream, the glow of a sunset.

And the best part? You don’t have to be in Hawaii to feel that.

You just have to choose it.

🌺 Peace Out, Kauai — Until Next Year

We’ll be back. We always come back. But until then, I’m holding onto the island mindset:

Slow down. Sip the coffee. Savor the moments. Life is good.
